Eldrick Tont 'Tiger Wood's' is an American golfer. Currently the youngest American golfer to win the masters tournament of golf. The number one in the world of golf is the highest paid professional athlete having earned an estimated $90.5 million. He was born on 30 December 1975 in Cypress, California. It was his father who called him by his nickname "Tiger". His Parents realized his talent. Tiger wood's talent was first recognized nationally when he beat the famous golfer & comedian Bob Hope he was hailed as a child prodigy. By five he was featured on the popular television show "That's Incredible!"

His training as a golfer was taken care by his father, who devoted all his energies to make his son what he is today. His mother a Thai passed on the ideals of Buddhism, which go beyond human sufferings & existence.

He was a typical middle class American boy. By 8 he had won his first formal competition. From there on there was no stopping him, He won many trophies and broke many amateur records.

He studied at Stanford University and won the U.S amateur title by 1996. He had won three amateur titles, which was a great achievement in itself. By 20 he left college to become a professional golfer, He was declared the sportsman of the year in 1996 by "sports illustrated" and PGA tour rookie of the year.

Woods shot to fame in 1997 after winning the U.S masters, with a record score of 270. He was the youngest person to win the masters title. Tiger Woods won the Buick invitational and western open in 2003 after which his career slowed a little. He was married to his long time girl friend Elin Nordegin in October 2004.

He regained his lost forms and won six championships in 2005 & was voted the PGA Tour player of the year for the seventh time in 9 years.
